| The Westinghouse Vintage fan provides powerful cooling and air with its 52-inch, five-blade design. The blades are reversible, with one side being rosewood and the other light maple, providing versatility in home decorating. Both sides coordinate handsomely with the fan's brushed nickel finish. The fan includes a three-light lighting kit with the three globes resting below and at the center of the fan in a triangular pattern, providing welcome light when necessary. The globes are made of frosted ribbed glass. The Westinghouse InstaLoc technology sets this fan apart from all other fans in its class. InstaLoc's patented, innovative technology allows the user to simplify the fan installation process. With only a few parts this fan can be installed in just 15 minutes. 52-inch fans are best suited for large rooms such as living rooms, dining rooms, great rooms, and large bedrooms. ceiling fan We had a large fan that swayed and squeaked. This fan is on a long extender rod from a tall ceiling. It is perfectly quiet and doesn't move at all! Just what we needed!
Good fan, good price. Bought this in a hurry due to heat wave coming and my upstairs gets ridiculously hot(lots of electrical equipment doesn't help). Purchased from Amazon as an open box, saved some money. Excellent deal. Fan came in perfectly new condition. Was very easy to assemble and is of nice quality. Offers multiple mounting options, I chose flush due to low ceilings. Flush mount sits very securely, no shaking. Fan is very quiet. I am very pleased. 3 bulbs included provide ample light as well. Highly recommended.
excellent buy I am very impressed with this fan. It's cheap but not cheap looking and it's extremely quiet. It wasn't particularly easy to install but it all came together in under an hour. I'm definitely buying another one for the den.
broken glass broken glass on one of the bells - Westinghouse doesn't care. We purchased three of these and they were delivered in a timely manner but one of the glass bells was broken in transit and Westinghouse has yet to respond to any inquiries through their online forms or their customer service number which dumped me into someone's voice mail. This would be so easily taken care of by having a human to either answer the customer service Hot-Line (LOL) or respond to your own created online forms. OOOF --- updatery = 75 days later and Westinghouse still hasn't delivered replacement glass.
Better than I thought it would be... After looking at Lowes, I was angry that I could only find candelabra lights on their ceiling fans. I figured I'd order one online, but eventually found out some MORON passed a law a few years back saying ceiling fans can ONLY have candelabra lights!!! WHY? THat is just stupid! So I ordered some candelabra conversion fixtures to aid me in my quest for better lighting, and ordered this fan, knowing I could fix the problem. We got it installed last weekend, and it turned out MUCH better than I thought it would be. I'm flooded with light, and did not feel the need to replace the bulbs, or use the conversion fixtures. I still think it's criminal for some bureaucrat to tell me what I can and can not use for my own lights in my own home, but this is not automatically going to need more light. I'm using it in a bedroom, and it's plenty of light in there. Not sure it would do in a kitchen, but my husband liked it so much he made me go out and buy him a fan for his office, too. You can gripe about the candelabra lights (and I agree), but since you can't get anything else in a ceiling fan anymore, you might as well accept it, and get the conversion sockets if you need more light. (Search "Candelabra to Medium Socket Enlarger" on Amazon. $2. each) I'd wait til it's installed, first, though, as it puts out quite a bit of light as is, and you may not need the converters. As to the fan itself, I love it. Still too cool here in NH to use it yet, but it looks good, quietly moves the air in testing, and was easily enough installed. It does provide a hook to make holding it easier while you connect the wires, with the only hard part being getting it to connect on both sides to the screws, when you push it up to the ceiling. It's heavy, and unwieldy, and you can't see both sides at once, so it is helpful to have someone help with that last bit, but otherwise, easy peasy. : ) INSTALL NOTE: I strongly urge you to tape a cover over the top motor housing holes while installing it. My husband dropped the tiny screws several times while wrestling it into position, and we had to take it off to shake out the screws and washers every time, until he finally listened, and put a paper cover on the holes to stop the screw from falling in. You won't regret it, as the screws are VERY tiny, and easy to drop. Not so easy to shake out, though. |
