Decent fan for the $ We have two fans like this in the living room and had to replace one. This newer one seems to be quieter than the older model. One difference is that the newer model takes the candlebra bulbs and the older model takes the standard bulb. So ours don't match in that regard, but oh well!
Great Fan This fan is a great buy. Looks nice, good air circulation, good price. The only thing I don't like about this fan (I bought the brushed nickel) is the light side of the blades looks very fake-it does not look like real wood at all due to the pattern on it, so I would never have that side down. Other than that, I'm very happy with it.
Beware! Incorrect Description Does NOT use standard base bulbs! I was disappointed because I have looked all over for a lighted ceiling fan that takes standard base bulbs so I can use the energy savers that provide much brighter light at lower wattage. This one uses candelabra base bulbs which are expensive to replace so I returned it. Wish I had read the existing "Reviews" because I could have saved myself the trouble. Amazon must not use the information they gather on the "Reason for Return" portion of their return form because the description has remained incorrect since July of 2007 based on the date of Brian Seilski's review. The "Technical Details" have still not been corrected 3 years later!
what u pay is what u get Item arrived in time. Is not a bad buy for the money. Pretty easy to put together. Nice looks. Only 2 things I can complain about. One of the glasses came broken in pieces. Amazon had to send another fan so I can take a good glass out of the box and return the second fan back. They paid for shipping. They couldn't just replace the glass. Well, in the end it worked out w/o too many head aches. The Amazon customer service was very nice and efficient in solving the problem. Second complain I have, it's a bit noisy on the low speed when it's quiet in the house, during the night. It has something to do with the glasses. When I touch the glasses and hold them firm, the noise stops. Not a very big deal, I can sleep well anyway. Overall, I'm happy with what I got for the money I paid.
